St. Theresa's Church Kosikalan
HISTORY

St. Theresa’s Church. Kosikalan saw its origin in October 1987 when Fr. Varghese Kunnath the then Priest in-charge of Nishkalanka Mata Church, Jaith, went to meet the Christian Community at Kosi at their request and the request of Brother Philip Neri, CMSF. Having offered Sunday Masses for six months in a rented room, this new mission was approved by the then Archbishop, Most Rev. Cecil DeSa with his pastoral visit to Kosikalan. Four and a half acres of land was bought where the present Church, the School, the presbytery and the Convent (Daughters of the Sacred Heart) are built. St. Theresa’s School began in rented rooms in July 1990. In October 1991, the school was shifted to the new building. The dedication of the Church, the Presbytery and the Convent took place on April 14, 1993. Fr. Varghese Kunnath, Fr. K K. Thomas , Fr. Bhaskar Jesuraj and Fr. Tomy V.A. rendered meritorious services to the mission.
