St. Peter's Church Bharatpur
HISTORY

This Mission station was started in 1970. Rev. Frs. George Thykkattil and Jose Maliekal were the pioneer missionaries. In 1970 St. Peter’s School was opened at Ranjit Nagar in a rented building by the late Archbishop Most Rev. Dominic Athaide, OFM Cap. Since there was no land and building of its own, the school was shifted thrice and finally to its present location. Rev. Fr. Thomas Paramundayil purchased 12 bighas of land and due to his tireless efforts the school building came up. In 1977 a religious house was opened by Mother Anasthasia, the then Superior General of the Congregation of the Holy Family.
