The Archdiocese of Agra celebrates the Sacerdotal Silver Jubilee of Rev. Dr. Robert Varghese (Palatty) on Sunday the 7th April at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Agra. Fr. Robert was born on 15th March 1973 in Ernakulam district of Kerala. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Agra on 11th April 1999.
The entire Archdiocesan family will gather together on 7th April 2024 to thank God for the wonderful gift of Rev. Fr. Robert to this diocese. He is a multi-talented priest who can attract people towards the Lord with his amicable and religious nature. He is an outstanding administrator of schools, an able teacher and a creative leader.
The thanksgiving Holy Eucharist will be offered at 5 p.m. on 7th April. The Holy Mass will be followed by a short felicitation programme by the parishioners.
We congratulate Rev. Fr. Robert for successfully touching the lives of innumerable people and bringing them closer to the Lord in the last 25 years. May the good Lord continue to bless him with good health of mind and body and that he may be a true instrument of peace and the love of God.
The Mass of the Holy Chrism in the Archdiocese of Agra is to be celebrated on 21st
March by the Most Rev. Raphy Manjaly, Archbishop of Agra. The Holy Mass will begin
at 4.30 p.m. where the Holy Oils will be blessed by the Archbishop in the presence
of all the priests working in the diocese and the lay faithful. These oils are
used to anoint the sick, the catechumens, those to be baptized and those to
receive the sacraments of the Holy Orders.
The Episcopal Consecration of Msgr. Baskar Jesuraj will take place during a Solemn
Eucharistic celebration on 3rd March in the Basilica of Our Lady of Graces, Sardana,
Meerut. The Mass is scheduled to begin at 10.30 a.m. and is to be presided over by
His Eminence Oswald Cardinal Gracias in the presence of the Most Rev. Raphy
Manjaly, Archbishop of Agra and many other bishops, priests, religious and
lay faithful.
The entire Archdiocese is coming together on 27th February, 2024 to bid a colorful
farewell to the Bishop-Elect, Msgr. Baskar Jesuraj. He is appointed to be the new
bishop of the diocese of Meerut on 13th January, 2024. Msgr. Baskar will assume
the office of the Episcopal See of the diocese on 3rd March, 2024 during the
solemn consecration and installation ceremony at the Shrine of Our Lady of
Graces, Sardana, Meerut.
On February 27th the clergy and the faithful of the Archdiocese will come together
in the Cathedral Church in Agra to express their good wishes to Msgr. Baskar as he
leaves Agra to assume the new responsibility entrusted to him.
The Archdiocesan Consultation for the Second Session of the Synod in 2024 is scheduled
to take place on the 25th of February in the Nav Jyoti Pastoral Centre of the
Archdiocese of Agra. More than 30 participants from all over the diocese are
expected to spend the whole day deliberating and sharing the Synod journey so
far and the points for the future.
